The Bomber organization is extremely proud and excited to announce the new addition the Texas Bombers 18U Gold team with John Carpenter as the Associate Head Coach. John Carpenter is making his departure from the Blaze Softball Organization where he was coached since 2012. “I am overwhelmed by the opportunity to join Scott Smith and this amazing Bomber Organization. I look forward to working alongside the incredible coaches, parents, and athletes that makeup Bomber Nation! Scott is about impacting this great game, making it better, and leaving a tremendous legacy for future generations, and that is where my passion rests. #BomberNation!”
John Carpenter has been coaching since 1991 and turned from baseball to softball in 2006. He currently is the High School Coach at Austin Hyde Park where he has made 4 trips to the TAPPS State Tournament and has been a 2 time selected All-Star Head Coach. During his time with the Blaze, he has had a Top 5 Nationals finish in 2015 at IDT Boulder. He is a 2 Time National Finalist, one in 2016 at the IDT Boulder where his team was Runner-Up and 2016 TC/USA 18U Gold National Champions! He has coached multiple players who have gone to play at the collegiate level, in the National Pro Fastpitch League, in MLB and NFL.
Coach Carpenter won his 600th game as a softball head coach in July 2018. National Program Director Scott Smith said, “I can not tell you how excited I am for Carp to be coming to the Bombers. To have been on opposite sides of the field for so many years competing against each other, to now be sharing the same dugout is really overwhelming. His knowledge and passion for the game are on another chart. Also, to have him be able to work with our entire program nationwide sharing his knowledge and having our players take part in his Win the Moment clinics will be a game changer moving forward. Today, Bombers Fastpitch got a whole lot better!” Coach Carp has also founded and developed “Win The Moment” clinics, where he teaches leadership and mental game training for high-level athletes and coaches in all sports. Carp speaks all over the country and internationally. His passions are Jesus, his wife Jennifer, his 7 children, and helping young athletes believe they can make a difference every day!
