Bombers looking to increase South Texas presence through partnership with the Power

New Braunfels, TX— 5/3/2019 —

Bombers Fastpitch is excited to strengthen the presence in the Houston area through the acquisition of the Houston Power Girls Fastpitch Organization. The ability to infuse the Bombers Fastpitch systems, recruiting and support will provide additional opportunities for the current Power teams and players.  The organizations will continue to function as separate entities through the 2019 spring/summer season.  Transition details will be forthcoming in the following months. “I cannot be more excited about this opportunity. The long history of the Power and the amazing players that have come before and that are there now only adds to make this even more special. Any chance you get to add quality coaches, players and parents to your program, it’s a big deal. This will strengthen our presence in the Houston market and continue to push us towards our goal of being the best in the country” said Scott Smith, Bombers Fastpitch Program Director

"The Houston Power teams and players will receive immediate benefits of this Power/Bomber alliance as the 14U – 18U Power teams are invited to the Bombers Fastpitch Colorado Scouting Combine this summer. “This decision ultimately comes down to providing the best opportunity for each of the athletes in the Power program. I have the highest respect for the Bombers. I know that they are committed to player development, the players’ long term growth in the organization and providing resources for each athlete in the recruiting process,” said Houston Power General Manager Christy Connor.
