Bomber Fastpitch adds new team in Missouri.
Bombers Fastpitch Organization is extremely pleased and proud to announce that we are adding another high quality team in the State of Missouri. Please welcome the St. Louis Chaos 06 – Pruett team to Bomber Nation! Formerly the St. Louis Chaos 06 – Pruett, the team will now be known as Missouri Bombers 06 Gold. The team is led by Matt Pruett and Assistant Coaches Matt Sawvell and Ken Webb. We are extremely excited to welcome the players, coaches and their families to the Bombers Fastpitch Organization.
The St. Louis Chaos has a tradition of fielding highly competitive A level teams in and around the Midwest. The fact that we are adding a team of this caliber to the Bomber Fastpitch family is significant to us. They match the high level teams that we currently have in our club and it also expands our footprint in the State of Missouri. The team is highly respected and is already recognized as one of the top 12U A level teams in the St. Louis Area.
Their dedicated coaching staff has been helping players improve and compete at the highest level of softball for years. Coach Pruett has been coaching since 2011 and has been coaching with the St. Louis Chaos club since October 2013. He has earned the respect of many in the area for building teams that compete at the highest level and play the game with passion. He is known for his love of the game, for teaching fundamentals, and for showing the girls how to play the game the “right way”. Coach Pruett has a deep and extensive knowledge of the game of softball and baseball. He played baseball at a high level and has surrounded his team with two very knowledgeable assistant coaches.
Joining Pruett will be Coach Sawvell a former MLB Player in the NY Mets Organization and a D1 starting pitcher for the University of Iowa. He brings a unique perspective and knowledge of the game from his playing time within the Mets organization, as well as additional insight as to what it means to compete against the best players in the world. Also on the coaching staff is Coach Webb, a former college athlete and a student of the game. He has responsibility over the pitchers and catchers and he manages the day to day operations at the team’s own practice/training facility in O'Fallon, Missouri, called The Zone. They have already implemented the Blast Motion system for hitting analysis and instruction. Going forward, the facility will be named The Bomber Zone and can be used by other Bomber teams and players in the area!
This team of talented athletes is currently ranked #3 overall in the State of MO and they have been Ranked in the Top 5 in the State of Missouri and in the Top 50 nationally for the past two years. The team has already made it’s presence known at several top events the past fall/spring amassing a record of 60-10-1. They’ve won 7 Championships since they started their second year 12U in September of 2018 and have earned victories against many of the Midwest’s top 12U teams and have already qualified for USSSA Elite Select World Fastpitch Championship and USA Softball 12U A National Championship!
They will continue to seek the best competition while getting integrated into the Bombers system for development and recruiting, and are super excited to become a member of a Nationally recognized program. It was important to them as they moved to 14U to be a part of the Bombers Fastpitch to allow them to build on the success they’ve already had and gain full access to the Bombers player development staff, coaches training workshops, and recruiting seminars that will prepare their girls for the next level. They will also benefit from the discounts offered by the programs sponsors Easton, New Balance, Black Star Athletics, Bownet and Hyper Graphics.
Keep a look out for the teams debut as Missouri Bombers 06 Gold at the Naperville Diamonds Invitational this weekend (June 1- 3) in Chicago. Please join me in Welcoming them to the Bomber Nation!!!
